Enner Valencia and our squad
I can't help but think that Valencia is going to be a huge asset to us this season with the way bilic has the team set up and the way we're playing. I never really thought we played to his strengths under BFS.

Can't help thinking that balancing the books and selling him once he returns to fitness could be on gold and Sullivan's mind after this summers outlay. Is that likely or do you think we'll keep him?

In answer to the OP - who knows?

As for Carroll: really we haven't yet got a clue how Slaven sees his role/s in the team, the guy has been on the pitch for barely 5 minutes. There is more to AC than knocking down long balls for Nolan!

"Does not fit our style of play"

Anyone who thinks we should only have one style of play doesn't really want us to win a lot of games.

And has no seen what our manager has done since he has been here. Last game even, we played quite differently first and second halves.

The fact we bought Jelavic (another taller broader striker) says to me that our manager values that type of player at times.

The Geordies will be desperate to sign AC in the January window to revert to hoofball and hope he just manages to keep them up.

Some reports he's starting tonight? Will be interesting to see how he fits in.

Do we sit back? I would say we've flown out the blocks away. Even at the Goon we were having a go.

For me the Carroll will be needed when teams come to us and sit back as we do away

Strength and depth - keep them all as you never know whats round the corner a la Allardicio 1-4-6

Carroll doesn't fit into our new style as a natural player. However, I am usre that there will be times when Slav needs to adjust it to get a result or hold on to a result which will see Carroll fit in.

He is no longer a first choice if all strikers fit. He will just have to cope with that.

Re: Enner Valencia and our squad
Because he's not mobile enough
The forward line is built around pace when we've got the ball and especially when we haven't closing defenders down
I can't agree he's our best striker sakho is in a different league to him IMO
I do think your right on one thing that he won't want to move....maybe if you could find another London club mug enough to take him on but even then I'm not sure he'd go

Not sure why you fit he wouldn't fit into our team, we're putting plenty of quality into the box.

Loaning him would be foolish, here we can look after him, make sure he's doing everything right to stay fit etc etc

Plus I doubt Carroll would want to leave at this moment in time.

Still it's all guess work and fit and on form Carroll is our best striker, so I for one hopes he takes his chance when it comes along, scores loads and stays fit.

Fcj
I believe he signed a contract as the same as jenks they wouldn't let him leave on loan without signing as he only had two years left on his deal and if he didn't they'd get fuck all for him next summer in his final year.....this way player gets a pay rise Chelsea get 1.5mill this season and they can still sell for big money next year and we can sign him for a year for little money as we'd done all our dough and if we want to keep homer can pay the market rate next season.....although hard to see at first but it suits all parties

Have no real idea why anyone would think we will loan out Carroll

Maybe if the manager doesn't fancy him they may just want his 5mill a year off the wage bill.....I can't see him fitting into our current style of play other than a impact sub if chasing a game late on and a team is sitting deep

Re: Enner Valencia and our squad
I think Moses still thinks he has a future at Chelsea - why else would you sign a new long term deal there? Valencia might turn out a better player than him if we are patient and support him.

Why would we not have a chance of signing Moses..??

Re: Enner Valencia and our squad
Croe - agreed, see that as a given
Lanzini, once again agree entirely, brilliant prospect for the money

Moses, well lets see what happens, six games in who knows where it ends

Amalfitano and Jarvis are finished here surely.

and WHO says we have no chance of signing Moses? on Lanzini we have the option, lets hope we take that up.

Spot on

Still no matter how strong and good the squad is some fans will want to be buying players in January.

Fingers crossed we won't need to panic buy for a change.

Re: Enner Valencia and our squad
Valencia still has masses of potential and is young. His pace and movement prior to injury make him still a great option provided he recovers fully.

If we would get rid of anyone I would think that the likes of Amalfitano, Jarvis and possibly Zarate are more at risk of being shifted based on their age.

Can see a 4231 with Sakho, Valencia Payet Moses up top

Loving the options we have and dont want anyone sold

Dont believe this book balancing shite either bar dampening any loons that expect a £20m spend in January
